Holly Lewis is a London born, Hobart based bass player and community worker. Equally at home on international festival stages or crafting songs one-on-one with her wide-ranging musical experience, she knows what it takes to back up the best, or compose original pieces that astound. With a varied recording history Holly has leant her dinsticitive style of playing across myriad projects – from electro-grunge to Cambodian psych rock via all-girl punk, classic French rock’n’roll and scuzzy country. Delivering bass lines that compliment the song Holly infuses real emotion and soul into musical compositions – whether it be driving rhythms, haunting refrains or signature bass riffs.
Holly’s work in the community sector combines her musical talents with her passion for social justice. Working with diverse community groups Holly utilises music and theatre to facilitate self-expression, empowerment and meaningful social change. Holly currently hosts ‘Srey’s School of Rock’, an intensive 10-day music and mentoring workshop for women in Cambodia. Srey’s School of Rock aims to nurture and promote local talent and provide a safe and supportive environment for budding musicians to learn skills, develop confidence and improve self-esteem.
