WELCOME TO THE KRWF INAUGURAL “YOUTH LIT FEST”
Join us as we open the stage to young and emerging writers and readers from Cambodia and around the world, at the launch of our inaugural KWRF Youth Literature Festival.
The event will be a full day featuring young writers, speakers, readers and illustrators, plus a discussion panels, music, street art and Keynote Speaker Arn Chorn Pond.
At 3pm we announce the winner if the KRWF Cambodian Emerging Writer’s Prize the open the floor to young writers who will each give 10 minutes to share their stories!

KRWF Cambodian Emerging Writer’s Prize
Send us your short story! and win international return flights, visas and accommodation worth over $2,000.
This year KRWF is going digital and calling for Cambodian writers to send us 2000 words in English or Khmer or your voice recording (up to 5mins) telling us your story. What you choose to write or record is entirely up to you but entries that connect to this year’s festival theme “courage” will be favourable. Simply submit your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org before midday Oct 30.
The winner of the KRWF Emerging Writer’s prize will receive a travel package with return flights to Melbourne Australia valued at $1500 plus home-stay hosting courtesy of Cambodian Australian community sponsors.
The travel prize is an opportunity for an emerging Cambodian writer to visit and experience Melbourne’s arts and literary culture sites, and receive mentorship through interaction with established writers and authors in Australia.
Open to Cambodian Nationals aged between 13 -25. Winner and runners up will be announced on the last day of KRWF at our Youth Literature Festival event 3pm Sunday Nov 5.
Top 3 shortlisted entries invited to present a reading of their works at Kampot Readers & Writers Festival between 3-5pm Sunday 5 and best three entries featured on our official website and magazine the KRWF Gazette.
Travel prize must be booked and used within November 6 2017 to October 30 2018. Disclaimer: prize is pending visa approval for applicant’s travel to Australia.
