Poetry Reading by Gone Marshall
4th November 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Gone Marshall is a poet, alt-rocker, and multimedia artist
“I was born with six fingers on my strumming (guitar) hand, but lost that during an
accident in the 2006 Turin (Olympic) games during a warmup run
on the luge. At that point, I wasn’t writing poetry or songs,
and was mainly just eating salmon and other foods which
were rich in Omega fatty acids.”
“The accident itself is a blur. I remember looking down at my severed
thumb and the trail of blood behind me. The blood trail was curved in
its aspect, and appeared to me to be a sort of snake figure, complete
with scales, a pointy head, and unfathomable eyes.”
“In a flash, I realized its meaning and I left the world of the luge behind me forever.
From that point on I felt compelled to focus on the arts, with the Muse as
my constant companion.”
